Homework Club
**NOT CURRENTLY RUNNING**
Homework support is available to students in grades 3-8 through our Homework Clubs located at Katimavik Elementary School. Although the clubs are located in this school, they are open to all students and there is no charge for these services.
Parents must first complete the Registration Forms below before a student may attend the club. This school has the forms available through their office and on their website. Forms may also be picked up and or completed during regular club hours (on the right).
The students are supported by two paid tutors and one volunteer tutor. We make every effort to provide French language support.
A snack is served each day and the students have access to the computer labs and printers. The clubs offer the students a safe and supportive place to complete their homework assignments, projects and reading. Positive role modelling, building of social skills and self-confidence are all part of the experience as well as increased knowledge and report card marks.
Students complete a pre and post questionnaire on how well they feel they have progressed. Many students have shown increased abilities and confidence in completing their homework. When asked if they would return to the club (the next school year) 100% say “yes.”
The clubs are closed during regular school closures/holidays and when the school buses have been cancelled.
