The Western Ottawa Community Resource Centre seeks Board Members for the upcoming 2026-27 Board calendar year

The Western Ottawa Community Resource Centre offers health and social services and programs to benefit individuals of all ages in far west Ottawa. Leadership of the Centre is provided by a Board of Directors.

Our current Board of Directors is a passionate, diverse group of individuals from various backgrounds and career stages who care about their community and want to promote positive change. The Centre is currently looking for candidates who reflect the full diversity of the communities that we serve to fill vacancies on the Board of Directors for our 2026-27 year.

Join our team and help the WOCRC provide and coordinate accessible community, health and social services for the benefit of our community.

As a governance Board, members are expected to be informed on organizational matters and participate in the Board’s deliberations and decisions in matters of policy development, finance, risk mitigation and community advocacy. Board members serve in a volunteer capacity without remuneration.

We have a particular need for candidates with expertise in finance and accounting, fundraising, health equity, and communications.

We welcome applications from:

  • Community members with lived experience
  • The Francophone community
  • Members of Indigenous communities
  • Members of the African, Caribbean and Black communities
  • Members of 2SLGBTQIA+ communities
  • Persons with disabilities

Nominations will be reviewed by the selection committee. The approximate time commitment for this position is five hours every month.
